Please read these Terms carefully before using JED Events. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the JED Events platform, website, and all related services available at jedevent.com. By creating an account, accessing, or using our platform in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Introduction and About Us#

JED Events is an online event management platform operated by JED Events, registered and operating under the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Our platform, accessible at jedevent.com, provides event organizers and attendees with tools for event creation and management, ticket sales, online and USSD-based voting and nominations, RSVP management, real-time analytics, and access to a vendor marketplace.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between JED Events and any individual or entity who accesses or uses our platform in any capacity. They apply to event organizers, attendees, nominators, voters, and visitors who browse our website.

2. Definitions#

Platform means the JED Events website at jedevent.com, its mobile-optimized site, and all associated services, tools, and features. User means any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform, including Organisers and Attendees.

Organiser means any individual, company, or institution that creates, manages, or administers events through the Platform. Attendee means any individual who purchases a ticket, registers for an event, casts a vote, submits a nomination, or otherwise participates in an event hosted on the Platform.

Event means any event, show, competition, concert, ceremony, exhibition, festival, or other programme created and managed by an Organiser through the Platform. Account means the registered user account created by a User to access the Platform.

Platform Revenue means funds collected through the Platform in connection with an Event, including ticket sales and voting revenue. JED Fee means the percentage of Platform Revenue retained by JED Events as described in these Terms or in a separate agreement with the Organiser.

Payout means the transfer of funds from the Platform to an Organiser's designated account after deduction of the JED Fee. USSD means Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, the offline channel through which users without internet access may participate in voting.

Nominated Party or Nominee means any individual or entry submitted for participation in an event's voting or competition category. Content means any text, images, videos, event descriptions, logos, or other materials submitted by Users to the Platform. Ghana Cedis or GHS means the lawful currency of the Republic of Ghana.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration#

To create an Account and use the Platform, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, have full legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable law or prior enforcement action by JED Events, and provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.

Persons under the minimum age may only use the Platform under direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts responsibility for compliance with these Terms.

To access the full features of the Platform, you may be required to provide your full legal name or organization name, a valid email address, a valid mobile phone number for OTP verification and Mobile Money transactions, a secure password, and any additional information required for Organiser accounts, such as event categories, organizational details, or payment account information.

Your Account is not fully activated until required email and/or phone verification is completed. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Account credentials and must notify JED Events at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

The Platform supports Attendee Accounts for ticket purchases, voting, nominations, and event participation, and Organiser Accounts for creating, publishing, and managing events. Organiser Accounts may be subject to additional verification at JED Events' discretion.

You agree to keep your Account information accurate and up to date. JED Events may suspend or terminate Accounts that contain false, inaccurate, or misleading information.

Each User may maintain one active Account per Account type. Creating multiple Accounts to circumvent restrictions, obtain unfair voting advantages, or for any other improper purpose is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated Accounts.

4. Use of the Platform#

You may use the Platform solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Permitted uses include creating and managing events, purchasing tickets, attending events, casting votes, submitting nominations, browsing the vendor marketplace, managing RSVPs and guest lists, and accessing event analytics and financial reports where available to Organisers.

You must not use the Platform for unlawful purposes, engage in fraudulent voting, purchase tickets for fraudulent resale or unauthorized commercial purposes, manipulate voting results, upload harmful or objectionable Content, impersonate others, attempt unauthorized access, use bots or scraping tools without permission, introduce malware, harvest personal information, overload infrastructure, reverse engineer the Platform, advertise without consent, or create events that promote illegal activity, violence, discrimination, or community harm.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your Account, forfeiture of funds held on the Platform, and referral to law enforcement authorities where applicable.

5. Obligations and Responsibilities of Organisers#

Organisers are solely responsible for all information provided in connection with their events. By creating an Event, an Organiser represents and warrants that all event information, including title, description, dates, venue, ticket prices, and category, is accurate, complete, and not misleading.

Organisers are responsible for ensuring that each Event is lawful and complies with applicable Ghanaian laws and regulations, including required permits, licenses, public safety approvals, and any entertainment, tax, health, safety, or event-specific obligations.

Organisers must have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use any content, images, trademarks, or materials uploaded to the Platform in connection with an Event, and must ensure that the Event does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.

Organisers are fully and solely responsible for delivering, managing, and executing their events. JED Events acts as a technology platform and payment intermediary and is not liable for an Organiser's failure to deliver an event as advertised.

Where an Event involves nominees, contestants, or participants, the Organiser is responsible for obtaining all necessary consents, including consent to be featured on the Platform, in voting processes, and in related marketing materials.

Organisers are responsible for communicating material changes to events, including cancellations, postponements, or venue changes, directly to attendees in a timely manner. JED Events may assist with communications at the Organiser's request but is not obligated to do so.

6. Ticketing#

Attendees may purchase tickets for events listed on the Platform. All ticket purchases are subject to availability and the specific terms set by the Organiser. By completing a ticket purchase, you enter into a contract with the Organiser for attendance at the relevant Event. JED Events facilitates this transaction but is not a party to the contract between Attendee and Organiser.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a digital ticket via email and/or SMS. Each ticket is issued with event details, ticket tier, and a unique scannable QR code. You are responsible for ensuring that your email address and mobile number are accurate at the time of purchase.

Tickets are valid only for the event, date, time, and tier specified on the ticket. Tickets are non-transferable unless expressly permitted by the Organiser. JED Events may invalidate any ticket obtained through fraudulent means, and presentation of a valid QR code may be required for entry.

Ticket prices are set exclusively by the Organiser. JED Events does not set or regulate ticket prices. Prices displayed on the Platform are inclusive of the JED platform fee unless otherwise stated and are shown in Ghana Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise indicated.

If payment is deducted from your account but no ticket confirmation is received within twenty-four (24) hours, contact our support team at [email protected] or via WhatsApp on +233264602978. JED Events will investigate and, where confirmed, re-issue the ticket or process a refund in accordance with our Refund Policy.

7. Voting and Nominations#

The Platform provides online and USSD-based voting services for events that include audience participation voting. Voting is subject to the specific rules and parameters set by the Organiser of each event.

JED Events provides voting technology infrastructure but does not determine voting rules, eligibility criteria, or outcomes. Vote counts are processed and displayed in real time through the Platform's live results dashboard and are subject to verification.

JED Events may disqualify votes identified as fraudulent, automated, or in violation of an Organiser's voting rules. Users must not cast votes without consent, use bots or automated tools, purchase or sell votes, exploit vulnerabilities, or attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the voting algorithm.

The Platform may use OTP verification and other technical measures to maintain vote integrity. JED Events may investigate suspicious voting patterns, disqualify affected votes, and suspend or permanently ban Users involved in fraudulent voting activity. No refund will be issued for votes disqualified due to fraudulent conduct.

Where an Organiser enables paid voting, each vote or bundle of votes has a price set by the Organiser. Payment is processed through the Platform's payment gateway. Votes paid for and cast are generally non-refundable except in cases of technical error attributable to the Platform.

Organisers may enable nominations for event categories. Nomination submissions must be accurate and truthful. Organisers are responsible for reviewing and verifying nominations before publication, and JED Events does not verify the accuracy or completeness of nominee information submitted by users or Organisers.

Offline USSD voting may be available for select events where enabled by the Organiser. Standard mobile network charges may apply to USSD sessions in addition to any JED voting fee. JED Events is not responsible for USSD service disruptions caused by mobile network operators.

8. RSVP and Guest Management#

Where an Organiser enables RSVP functionality, Attendees may confirm their attendance through the Platform. By submitting an RSVP, you confirm your intention to attend the event on the stated date and at the stated venue.

By submitting an RSVP, you consent to the Organiser using your contact details to send event-related reminders and communications. You also acknowledge that submitting an RSVP does not guarantee entry unless accompanied by a valid ticket where ticketing is required.

JED Events provides RSVP management tools to Organisers and is not responsible for event admission decisions made by Organisers based on RSVP data.

The Platform supports Mobile Money, including MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, and other supported mobile wallet providers; credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and other accepted networks; and bank transfers to JED Events' partner institution accounts where applicable.

JED Events may add or remove accepted payment methods at any time, and not all payment methods may be available for all transaction types or event categories.

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. By making a payment, you authorize JED Events to process the transaction through the relevant gateway. JED Events does not store card details, and payment data is handled in accordance with applicable security standards.

Payment transactions are subject to processing times determined by your bank or mobile money provider. JED Events is not responsible for delays attributable to your financial institution. All amounts are charged in Ghana Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise stated.

JED Events charges a platform fee on revenue generated through the Platform. Unless a separate agreement states otherwise, the standard fee is 10% of voting revenue, with the Organiser retaining 90%, and 7% of ticketing revenue, with the Organiser retaining 93%.

Partner Organisers operating under a formal JED Partnership Agreement may be subject to different fee rates. Where there is any conflict between these Terms and a signed Partnership Agreement, the Partnership Agreement prevails in respect of fee rates only.

JED Events does not charge setup fees, listing fees, subscription fees, or hidden charges. Attendee transaction charges, such as payment gateway processing fees, shall be disclosed at the point of purchase where applicable.

If a payment attempt fails, the transaction will not be processed. JED Events is not responsible for temporary holds or pending charges applied by your bank or mobile money provider.

10. Funds Holding and Organiser Payouts#

Funds received through the Platform in connection with an Organiser's Event are held in segregated trust accounts maintained with JED Events' licensed financial partner institutions. These funds are held on behalf of the relevant Organiser and are not commingled with JED Events' operational funds.

Organisers may submit payout requests for available balances after deduction of the applicable JED platform fee. Payout requests are subject to the Organiser's Account being in good standing, no outstanding disputes or holds, and the Organiser having a verified payout method registered on the Account.

Payout requests submitted by Organisers shall be processed within twenty-four (24) hours where submitted during normal business hours and all verification requirements are met. JED Events is not liable for delays attributable to the receiving bank or mobile money provider after payout initiation.

Payouts may be made via the Organiser's registered preferred method, including Mobile Money transfer, direct bank transfer to a Ghanaian bank account, or another method made available by JED Events.

If an Organiser believes a payout amount is incorrect, the issue must be raised in writing within fourteen (14) days of the payout date. JED Events shall investigate and respond within five (5) business days, and Platform revenue and transaction records shall be the definitive reference for resolving payout disputes.

JED Events may withhold or delay payouts where there is suspected fraud or violation of these Terms, a pending refund request or chargeback, an active investigation or legal hold, or a legal or regulatory requirement. JED Events shall notify the Organiser promptly of any payout hold and endeavour to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

11. Event Cancellations and Refunds#

If an Organiser cancels an Event after tickets have been sold or votes have been received, the Organiser bears full responsibility for notifying all affected Attendees and processing refunds where applicable. JED Events will cooperate with Organisers in facilitating refunds through the Platform at the Organiser's instruction, provided the Organiser's available Platform balance is sufficient to cover refund amounts.

Ticket and voting fee refunds are governed by JED Events' Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and is published separately on the Platform. In general, tickets may be eligible for a refund if an Event is cancelled or significantly altered by the Organiser, votes cast are generally non-refundable once processed except in cases of demonstrable platform error, and no refund will be issued for votes disqualified due to fraudulent conduct.

JED Events acts as a facilitator and does not bear primary liability for refunds arising from an Organiser's failure to deliver an event. JED Events may, at its discretion, facilitate refunds by deducting the refund amount from the Organiser's Platform balance and remitting it to the Attendee.

Where an Organiser's Platform balance is insufficient to cover refunds, JED Events shall take reasonable steps to recover the outstanding amount from the Organiser.

12. Content and Intellectual Property#

By submitting Content to the Platform, including event descriptions, images, videos, logos, or other materials, you grant JED Events a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable licence to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and promote that Content solely for operating and marketing the Platform and the relevant Event. You retain ownership rights in your Content.

You represent and warrant that you own all rights to the Content you submit or have obtained all necessary licences and permissions, that your Content does not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, and that your Content is not defamatory, obscene, unlawful, or otherwise harmful.

JED Events may remove Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our discretion, to be inappropriate.

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its design, software, code, features, trademarks, logos, and content created by JED Events, are owned by or licensed to JED Events. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use JED Events' intellectual property except as expressly permitted.

13. Privacy and Data Protection#

JED Events is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal data responsibly. Our collection, use, storage, and processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is published separately and incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Platform, you consent to our collection and use of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may collect personal data including your name, email address, mobile number, and payment information when you register and use the Platform.

We use personal data to provide and improve our services, process payments, send event-related communications, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

You may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Data Deletion Policy.

14. Third-Party Services and Links#

The Platform may integrate with or provide links to third-party services, including payment gateways, mobile network operators, social media platforms, and JED Marketplace vendors.

JED Events does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Your use of any third-party service accessed through the Platform is governed by that third party's own terms and privacy policy.

JED Events shall not be liable for loss or damage arising from your use of or reliance on any third-party service.

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability#

The Platform and all content and services available through it are provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

JED Events does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

JED Events is not the organiser, producer, or operator of any event listed on the Platform. All representations and warranties regarding events, including quality, safety, legality, and delivery, are the sole responsibility of the Organiser.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JED Events shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.

JED Events' total aggregate liability to any User in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the total amount paid by that User to JED Events in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or GHS 500.00, whichever is greater.

JED Events shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance where caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, government actions, network outages, natural disasters, civil unrest, or disruptions to third-party payment infrastructure.

16. Account Suspension and Termination#

You may close your Account at any time by submitting a written request to [email protected]. Pending Organiser payouts must be processed before account closure, and JED Events will complete a final payout within five (5) business days of a closure request from an Organiser.

Unused ticket credits or platform balances held in an Attendee Account will be forfeited, subject to applicable refund rights. Personal data will be handled in accordance with our Data Deletion Policy.

JED Events may suspend or permanently terminate your Account at any time, with or without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, we suspect fraudulent, unlawful, or harmful activity, you provide false or misleading information, your Account is subject to law enforcement or regulatory inquiry, or continued access poses a risk to JED Events, other Users, or Platform integrity.

In cases of serious violations, JED Events may withhold outstanding funds pending investigation. Where termination is without cause on our part, JED Events shall provide reasonable notice and facilitate final settlement of any outstanding payout.

Upon termination, your right to access and use the Platform ceases immediately. Ongoing Events at the time of Organiser account termination may be completed at JED Events' discretion in the interest of affected Attendees and settled accordingly. Clauses that should survive termination, including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution, shall survive.

17. Amendments to These Terms#

JED Events may amend, update, or replace these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we may publish the updated Terms on the Platform with a new Last Updated date, send an email notification to your registered email address where practicable, or display a prominent notice on the Platform for a reasonable period.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform and may close your Account.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution#

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Before initiating a formal dispute resolution process, you agree to contact JED Events at [email protected] and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve your concern informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within thirty (30) days of written notice, either party may refer the matter to the courts of the Republic of Ghana, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of the Republic of Ghana, including rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

19. General Provisions#

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, and Data Deletion Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JED Events regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

JED Events' failure to enforce any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without JED Events' prior written consent. JED Events may assign its rights and obligations without restriction.

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and JED Events.

These Terms are written in English. In the event of conflict between an English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.
