Affiliate Programme Terms

These Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the JED Events Affiliate Programme. By enrolling in the Programme or sharing your Referral Link, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full. Please read carefully before participating.

1. Introduction#

JED Events operates an Affiliate Programme (the "Programme") that allows registered users of the jedevent.com platform to earn rewards by referring event organisers to JED Events. These Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions ("Affiliate Terms") govern your participation in the Programme and form part of the JED Events Terms and Conditions of Use, which remain in full effect alongside these Affiliate Terms.

By enrolling in the Programme or using your affiliate referral link, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Affiliate Terms. If you do not agree, you must not participate in the Programme.

These Affiliate Terms are to be read alongside the JED Events Terms and Conditions at jedevent.com/terms, the Privacy Policy at jedevent.com/privacy-policy, and all other applicable JED Events policies.

2. Definitions#

For the purposes of these Affiliate Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Affiliate" - means a registered JED Events user who has enrolled in the Programme and holds an active affiliate account in good standing.
  • "Referral Link" - means the unique tracking URL or referral code assigned to an Affiliate by the JED Events platform for the purposes of tracking referrals.
  • "Referred Organiser" - means an event organiser who registers a new JED Events Organiser Account using the Affiliate's Referral Link and who has not previously held an active JED Events Organiser Account.
  • "Qualifying Event" - means a paid event created and hosted by a Referred Organiser on the JED platform - that is, an event that generates real monetary revenue through ticket sales, voting, or any other paid feature - after the Referred Organiser has successfully completed their first event setup.
  • "Points" - means the reward units credited to an Affiliate's account upon fulfilment of the conditions described in Clause 4 of these Affiliate Terms.
  • "Points Balance" - means the total accumulated Points held in an Affiliate's account at any given time.
  • "Conversion" - means the process by which an Affiliate exchanges their Points Balance for Ghana Cedis (GHS) at the applicable conversion rate.
  • "Withdrawal" - means the transfer of converted funds from an Affiliate's account to their designated payment method following a successful Conversion.
  • "Programme" - means the JED Events Affiliate Programme described in these Affiliate Terms.

3. Eligibility and Enrolment#

Eligibility

To participate in the Programme, you must:

  • Hold a valid, verified, and active JED Events account (Attendee or Organiser)
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Have a valid mobile money wallet or bank account registered on your JED Events account for the purpose of receiving Withdrawals
  • Not be in violation of any JED Events policy, including the Terms and Conditions of Use
  • Not be an employee, contractor, or direct representative of JED Events (unless expressly permitted in writing by JED Events management)

Enrolment

Enrolment is completed through the Affiliate section of your JED Events account dashboard. Upon successful enrolment, a unique Referral Link will be generated and assigned to your account. JED Events reserves the right to approve or decline any enrolment application at its sole discretion, without being required to provide a reason.

Free to Join

Enrolment in the Programme is free of charge. JED Events does not charge any fee to participate as an Affiliate.

4. How the Programme Works#

Sharing Your Referral Link

Upon enrolment, each Affiliate receives a unique Referral Link. You may share this link through any lawful channel, including personal conversations, social media, email, or messaging apps. Your Referral Link tracks all new Organiser registrations made through it.

Referral Attribution

A referral is attributed to you as an Affiliate when:

  • A new user clicks your Referral Link and completes registration as an Organiser on JED Events; and
  • That user has not previously held any form of Organiser Account on the JED Events platform; and
  • The registration is completed within thirty (30) days of the Referral Link being clicked.

Qualifying Event Requirement

Points are not awarded at the point of referral registration alone. Points are credited to your account only when the Referred Organiser creates and hosts a Qualifying Event - meaning a paid event that successfully generates revenue on the JED platform. A free event, a draft event, or a cancelled event does not constitute a Qualifying Event.

Points Crediting

Points are credited to your Affiliate account automatically by the JED platform upon the conclusion or sufficient progression of a Qualifying Event. You will be notified via your registered email or in-app notification when Points are credited to your account.

Multiple Referrals

There is no cap on the number of event organisers you may refer. Each Referred Organiser who successfully hosts a Qualifying Event generates Points for your account. Where a Referred Organiser hosts multiple paid events, additional Points may be credited for each subsequent Qualifying Event at the discretion of JED Events, subject to the terms communicated in your Affiliate dashboard.

5. Points - Earning, Value, and Validity#

Points Earning

Points are earned exclusively through successful referrals as described in Clause 4. Points cannot be purchased, transferred between accounts, gifted, inherited, or obtained through any means other than valid referral activity within the Programme.

Points Value and Conversion Rate

Points hold a monetary equivalent and may be converted to Ghana Cedis (GHS) at the applicable conversion rate displayed in your Affiliate dashboard at the time of Conversion. JED Events reserves the right to adjust the Points conversion rate from time to time. Any change in conversion rate will apply only to Points earned after the date the new rate takes effect. Points already accumulated at the time of a rate change will be converted at the rate in effect when those Points were earned, unless JED Events notifies you otherwise in writing.

Points Validity

Points are valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date they are credited to your account. Points that have not been converted within this validity period will expire automatically and be forfeited without compensation. JED Events will send a reminder notification at least thirty (30) days before your Points are due to expire. It is your responsibility to monitor your Points Balance and act before expiry.

Points Are Non-Transferable

Points are personal to the Affiliate account to which they are credited and may not be transferred to any other person, account, or entity under any circumstances, including in the event of account closure, death, or transfer of business.

6. Conversion of Points to Cash#

Eligibility to Convert

You may request a Conversion of your Points Balance to GHS at any time, provided:

  • Your Points Balance meets the minimum Conversion threshold as displayed in your Affiliate dashboard
  • Your account is in good standing with no active violations, holds, or investigations
  • Your payment details (mobile money wallet or bank account) are verified and up to date on your account

Conversion Process

To convert your Points, navigate to the Affiliate section of your JED Events dashboard, select the Points you wish to convert, and confirm the Conversion. The equivalent GHS value will be calculated at the applicable conversion rate at the time of your request and credited to your Withdrawal balance.

Minimum Conversion Threshold

A minimum Points Balance is required before a Conversion can be initiated. The current minimum threshold is displayed in your Affiliate dashboard and may be updated by JED Events from time to time with reasonable notice.

Partial Conversion

You may convert part of your Points Balance rather than your entire balance, provided the amount you wish to convert meets the minimum threshold. Remaining Points will stay in your account and continue to be subject to their original validity periods.

7. Withdrawal of Converted Funds#

Withdrawal Request

Once Points have been converted to GHS, you may request a Withdrawal of the converted amount to your registered payment method at any time.

Withdrawal Processing Time

All Withdrawal requests shall be processed by JED Events within twenty-four (24) hours of submission, provided your account is in good standing and your payment details are verified. JED Events is not responsible for delays attributable to your bank or mobile money provider after the transfer has been initiated.

Accepted Withdrawal Methods

Withdrawals are processed via the following methods:

  • MTN Mobile Money
  • Telecel Cash
  • AirtelTigo Money
  • Direct bank transfer to a Ghanaian bank account
  • Any other method made available by JED Events from time to time

Minimum Withdrawal Amount

A minimum Withdrawal amount applies and is displayed in your Affiliate dashboard. Withdrawal requests below the minimum threshold will not be processed.

Taxes and Deductions

You are solely responsible for any income tax, withholding tax, or other fiscal obligations that may arise from your receipt of affiliate earnings under the laws of the Republic of Ghana or any other applicable jurisdiction. JED Events does not deduct taxes on your behalf and does not provide tax advice. We recommend consulting a qualified tax professional regarding your obligations.

8. Affiliate Conduct and Prohibited Activities#

Permitted Promotion

Affiliates may promote JED Events and share their Referral Links through any lawful and honest channel, including personal networks, social media, email, websites, and professional communities.

Prohibited Conduct

The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification from the Programme, forfeiture of all Points and pending Withdrawals, and potential account termination:

  • Self-referral: Creating or using secondary accounts to refer yourself or entities under your direct control in order to generate Points
  • False or misleading promotion: Making any false, exaggerated, or misleading claims about JED Events, its services, pricing, or the Programme in order to induce sign-ups
  • Spam: Sending unsolicited bulk messages or emails using your Referral Link. All promotional communications must comply with applicable laws and must only be sent to recipients who have consented to receive them
  • Incentivised sign-ups without disclosure: Offering cash, goods, or other incentives to persuade someone to register through your link without disclosing to them that you receive affiliate rewards for doing so
  • Cookie stuffing or technical manipulation: Using any automated tool, bot, script, or technical mechanism to generate artificial clicks, registrations, or referral events
  • Impersonation: Representing yourself as an employee, official partner, or representative of JED Events without explicit written authorisation
  • Targeting minors: Directing affiliate promotions at persons under the age of eighteen (18)
  • Unauthorised use of JED branding: Using JED Events' name, logo, or trademarks in any way that has not been expressly authorised in writing by JED Events

Disclosure Requirement

Where you promote your Referral Link publicly - including on social media, websites, or in written or video content - you must clearly and conspicuously disclose that you receive rewards for referrals made through your link. Failure to disclose your affiliate relationship when required by applicable law or platform community guidelines is a violation of these Affiliate Terms.

9. Tracking, Disputes, and Audit#

Tracking

Referrals are tracked through the unique identifier embedded in your Referral Link. JED Events' platform records are the definitive and authoritative source for all referral attribution and Points crediting. JED Events does not guarantee tracking in cases where a user's browser settings, ad blockers, or other technical configurations prevent the Referral Link from being properly recorded.

Disputed Referrals

If you believe a referral was not correctly attributed to your account, you must raise the dispute within fourteen (14) days of the date you believe the referral should have been recorded, by contacting JED Events at [email protected] with the relevant details. JED Events will investigate and respond within seven (7) business days. The platform's tracking records will be the final reference in resolving all disputes.

Audit Rights

JED Events reserves the right to audit any Affiliate account at any time to verify the legitimacy of referrals, Points balances, and Withdrawal requests. During an audit, Points Conversions and Withdrawals from the audited account may be temporarily suspended. If an audit reveals fraudulent activity, all Points and pending Withdrawals associated with that activity will be forfeited.

10. Programme Modifications and Termination#

Changes to the Programme

JED Events reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Programme or any aspect of it - including Points earning rates, conversion rates, minimum thresholds, validity periods, or eligible referral activities - at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active Affiliates via email or in-app notification with at least fourteen (14) days' notice where practicable.

Effect of Changes

Continued participation in the Programme after the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you may opt out of the Programme by contacting us at [email protected].

Discontinuation of the Programme

In the event that JED Events discontinues the Programme in its entirety, all active Affiliates will be given a minimum of thirty (30) days' notice to convert any valid Points balance before the Programme closes. Points not converted within this notice period will be forfeited upon closure.

11. Suspension and Disqualification#

JED Events may suspend or permanently disqualify an Affiliate from the Programme at any time, with or without prior notice, in the following circumstances:

  • Violation of any provision of these Affiliate Terms or the JED Events Terms and Conditions of Use
  • Suspected or confirmed fraudulent activity in connection with the Programme
  • Conduct that brings JED Events into disrepute or causes harm to other users of the platform
  • Failure to maintain an active and verified JED Events account

Forfeiture on Disqualification

Upon disqualification for a breach of these Affiliate Terms, all accrued Points, converted balances awaiting Withdrawal, and pending referral credits will be forfeited. Where disqualification occurs through no fault of the Affiliate, accrued valid Points will be honoured in accordance with the discontinuation terms.

12. Intellectual Property#

JED Events may provide Affiliates with approved marketing materials, banners, copy, or brand assets for use in promoting the Programme. Any such materials remain the intellectual property of JED Events and may only be used in the form provided, for the purpose of legitimate Programme promotion, and in accordance with any usage guidelines issued by JED Events. You may not alter, crop, or modify JED Events' branding or create derivative materials without prior written consent.

13. Limitation of Liability#

JED Events shall not be liable for any loss of earnings, lost profits, or any other indirect or consequential loss arising from your participation in the Programme, including but not limited to:

  • Technical failures that prevent tracking of a referral
  • Changes to Points conversion rates or Programme terms
  • Expiry of Points due to the Affiliate's failure to convert within the validity period
  • Suspension or disqualification resulting from a breach of these Affiliate Terms

JED Events' total aggregate liability to any Affiliate in connection with the Programme shall not exceed the equivalent monetary value of the Points Balance held in that Affiliate's account at the time the claim arises.

14. Relationship of the Parties#

Your participation in the Programme does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and JED Events. You are an independent participant in the Programme. You have no authority to enter into any agreement on behalf of JED Events, make any representation on behalf of JED Events, or bind JED Events in any way.

15. Governing Law#

These Affiliate Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Affiliate Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Ghana.

These Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions form part of the JED Events Terms and Conditions of Use. In the event of any conflict between these Affiliate Terms and the general Terms and Conditions, the Affiliate Terms shall prevail in respect of Programme-specific matters only.
